Bottled April 2016. Appearance is amber, clear, with a half-finger beige fizzy head. Aroma is cherry, fruitcake, marzipan, vanilla, Christmas pudding, dark malts, raisin and sultana, boozy traces. Taste- boozy fruitcake, vanilla, oak barrel, cherry chocolate, bitter hops, malty, oaky vanilla cherry finish, full-bodied. Very good.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy amber with stable beige head. Clear aroma of malt and caramel, with notes of yeast and touches of barrel. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt and yeast, with notes of barrel and hops and touches of fruit. Dusty and estery aftertaste with acidic hints. A nice one.

0.5 l bottle from 'BierPost.com', bottled in April 2016, cellared for about two years. Clear, dark reddish amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, gently fruity and a bit herbal-grassy aroma of marmelade, raisins, orange peel, tea leaves, vanilla and some whisky. Quite sweet, malty, slightly bitter, gently fruity, slightly herbal-grassy taste of raisins, marmelade, tea leaves, orange peel, vanilla and some whisky, followed by a medium long, gently bitter, slightly herbal-grassy and a bit boozy finish with a touch of wood. Medium body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Very rich and saturating stuff, quite pleasant, just a bit too much carbonation for such kind of beer.

Bottle at home. Deep and dark colour in the tankard and a good head. A massive aroma of wood and spirits that was up there with the best of them. The taste was malt, wood and spirits that filled up my senses and left me almost stunned with a mouthfeel that was rich and almost portish. This is a hell of a beer and I was struggling towards the end of the bottle.

In der Nase Rosinen, Schokolade, irgendwie muss ich an Eiscreme denken. Im Trunk holzig, etwas Whisky, Rosinen, ein Hauch Alkohol, aber dennoch sehr süffig. Mittig leicht süß. Hinten wieder holzig, cremig, Cognac. Hohe Drinkability. Ausgezeichnetes Ding und meine #1000! :)

Cask at the Manchester Beer and Cider Festival, 2018. Reddish-brown pour with a white head. Toffee, red apple, caramel and sweet fruit in the aroma. Flavours of red apple, more toffee, bags of sweet malt. Good stuff.
