This ebony beer was first brewed in October 2023 as part of this brewery’s Future Brewers Programme. The creamy malt and caramel character is complemented by initial chocolate notes and roasted coffee hints, leading to a subtle bitterness in the finish.

Cask at the Alexander Graham Bell. Pours clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of light blackcurrant and toffee. Taste adds some roast. Decent and drinkable.

Cask ale at Barrel Vault, half pint shared with Finn. Wetherspoon Beer Festival, March 24. Nice in the glass with its rustic black body, fawn-coloured head, and scattered lacing. Lightly roasted grainy malt on the nose, mid-sweet. Prominent caramel flavours with a backdrop of coffee. Slightly roasted ending, mid-sweet. Nice. (London, 16.03.2024).

13th March 2024
Cask at the Shakespeare's Head Spoons. Almost clear but very dark brown reddish beer, good tan head. Airy smooth palate, reasonable fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, quite pleasant, a light earthyness with mellow dark malt cream. Vague chocolate, candyish, lingers in the background. Bramling Cross bring their blackberry loveliness on the back end. All comes together rather well into a mild but tasty and quaffable affair. Much better than I would have expected.

Cask at Square Peg, Birmingham. Pours almost black with minimal tan head and good lacing. The aroma is an enticing mix of raosted malts and oats. Roasted malts again to the more in the mouth which good helpings too of chocolate, carmae and toffee and hints of ash. Slightly bitter and perhaps a bit watery with a slightly spicy finish. This is a decent well balanced beer that is a pleasure to drink.

Deep brown, near balc, with a tinge of red and a frothy tan head. Aroma hints at roasted malt and maybe some vanilla. Light to medium bodied, sweet and malty/fruity, with some chocolate notes and a dry finish with just a hint of bitterness
