Cask @ Regal Moon, Rochdale. Slightly deeper golden with a creamy-smooth head. Deeper tasting hoppy ale given its strength, but not impactful too much in this respect.

1/2 pint, cask at Crosse Keys. Shared with Finn. Wetherspoon Beer Festival, March 24. Next-to-clear dark amber body, stable beige head that laced quite well. Inviting aromas of bread and leafy hops. Tasty with moments of resinous hops, bread and biscuit. Piney note towards the finish. fine depth to it. Pleasing. (London, 16.03.2024)

Cask at the Falcon (JDW), High Wycombe. Amber with an off-white head. Bread and earth with a floral hint and a touch of spice. Mild bitterness; a tad thin for the strength. A bit dull and twiggy, but ok I guess.

Cask at Moon under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours a dark chestnut with a small off-white head. The aroma is mainly traditional hops with hints of rye and spices. Traditional hops to the fore again in the mouth where it is quite bitter overall with a creamy texture. Flavour has marmalade and spices too plus hints of ginger, autumn fruits and alcoholic strength, leading to a decidedly dry finish. This is rather nice – much better than I was expecting !

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading.] A copper coloured pour with a tight white head; sweet barley aroma; syrupy in the mouth with a malty taste; then a very dry finish with a light herbal bitterness. Very good.
