Brewed with Chevallier, Maris Otter and Crystal malts and hopped extensively with Goldings and Target. This celebration of the very best English Hops and Malts is burnt orange in colour with layers of pithy orange and sweet marmalade finishing with a robust bitterness.

Cask @ Tap and Can. Misty deep gold appearance, white head. Expected this to taste more English.. ie, earthy, rustic, bitter, marmaladey.. darker caramel look, but a decent mellow tropical fruity side comes through with a restrained bitterness. Lovely.

Can from Heaton Hops, Stockport. Pours light hazed gold with a white cap. Aroma: malt, grains, marmalade, light floral. Taste: light sweet & light to moderate bitter, grains, orange, marmalade. Medium body with soft carbonation.

Cask at Hops, Crewe (30/9/23). Pours a slightly hazy golden brown with a small almost white head and good lacing. The aroma has marmalade with some hints of floral hops. In the mouth it is smooth and sweet with malts, tangerines, apple-peel and thin cut marmalade. There’s quite a bit of bitterness in the finish. It’s reasonable enough, but a bit bland.

Cask ale, half-pint shared with Finn at Wenlock Arms. Next-to clear golden body, filmy layer, spotty lacing. Moderate aromas of grainy fruits. Blended taste character of ripe orange, dough, and earthy malts. Mid-sweet malt-fruity finish. Satisfying. (Hoxton, London, 28.09.2023).
