Amber coloured Barley Wine laden with bronze glints.
On the nose, straight away the bouquet has impact, intensity and complexity with notes of both candied and alcohol-soaked fruit, dried figs, fresh tobacco and chocolate, while a caramel sensation is perceived but remains in the background.
In the mouth, the initial sensation is of incredible density and softness, a silky warmth accompanying memories of bitter orange marmalade, dried fruit and chestnut honey. The finale provides a refreshing, slightly sharp hint that adds harmony and balance.
It can also be stored in the wine cellar to taste its evolution over time.

7-4-8-4-16 Bottle, bottle no. 04853, vintage 2022. Pours unclear mahogany, with a small creamy off white head. Aroma is dark roasted malts with toffee, tobacco and heather, as well as nuts, raisins, dark fruits and wooden minerals. Full body, with soft carbonation. Flavour is roasted malts with bread, toffee, tobacco, raisins and dark fruits, as well as nuts, heather, tannins and herbal minerals.

hazy chestnut colour, minimal beige-ish head; aroma of soy sauce, dried sour cherry, prune, raisins, some roasted sunflower seeds, marmalade and burnt sugary notes; taste has the same notes as can be felt in the aroma with quite definite resiny hoppy bitterness; great one!

330 ml bottle No 04066, vintage 2022, from Vinmonopolet, Nettbutikken. ABV is 13%. Amber to cognac colour, small off-white head. Aroma of malts, dust, damp basement, hints of molasses and fusel, not good. Smooth mouthfeel and flavour (better than the aroma), notes of malts, caramel, oak, raisins, old sherry.

Bottle. Clear, dep golden to amber body under a small, fast disappearing beige head. Moderate carbonation. Rich aroma of malt, dry fruit, caramel, candy sugar and warming vinous alcohol. Taste in the same direction, sweet and malty with caramel, dry fruit, candy sugar, vinous alcohol and some bitterness. Full bodied with long lasting, sweet malty aftertaste. A very nice, slow sipper, not sure if it’s just the memories from a lost time or the previous versions from Eldridge Pope actually was a tad better. Still nice anyway.

330ml bottle no. 04435, vintage 2022, bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. The noisy pour reveals a clear dark reddish body, a fast dissipating white head and a few dotted spots on the glassware. Promising smell of dark fruit, grain, and mid-sweet caramel malts. Rich taste of candied sweet, stewed fruit, bread, and wood. Lingering drying close, warming down the swallow. Full bodied. Lazy Sunday afternoon enjoyment. (Tromsø 29.01.2023).
