Big refreshing citrus flavours of grapefruit, lemon and lime are at the fore, rounded off with tropical and floral notes. Citra Blonde has a light malt character and assertive bitterness which allows the Citra hop character to shine.

I don't know if psychologically a brew tastes better in the right venue - and this one was in a proper Edinburgh ale house. Hoppy nose, the citra is to the fire in taste and the texture makes it easy too. Pretty decent.

Cask-conditioned at the John Moore (JDW), Glasgow May 2023. Golden in colour, with a slight, white, head. Light, floral, hops, some tangerine fruit character, biscuity maltiness leading to a dryish finish. Fine.

Cask at CBC, Covent Garden on 10th December 2023. Clear, pale gold with shallow foam and spot lacing. Hints of citrus in aroma. Grassy and zesty hoppiness over a nutty malt in-mouth, and a grassy citrus finish. Light body and a zingy mouthfeel.

1/3 pint, cask ale at Craft Beer Co. - The Bear Paddington. Shared with Finn. Clear golden body, filmy layer, dotted spots. Moderate smell of pale malts with a citric scent. Rounded taste profile with citrus, grass, and semi-sweet malts. Smooth and dry ending. Easy to drink. Satisfying. (London, 09.02.2023).
