Our first Baltic Porter, brewed with a rich malt base featuring caramel, Vienna, Munich and Carafa Special malts. We used WLP833 for fermentation and 6 weeks of lagering, and the resulting beer was brightened up with a very light dry hop of Ekuanot.

Solid malts with plenty of coffee & liquorice. Balanced sweetness with a solid bitter bite. Bit thin perhaps but overall a well made beer. --- Beer merged from original tick of Baltic Porter on 02 Apr 2018 at 01:27 - Score: 7. At a tasting, thanks, big gushing head, quite thick, deep brown color with reddish hues, aroma of toasted dark bread, ashtray and charred notes, flavor of dark bread and bittersweet chocolate, with a hint of hay. Drinkable but heavy and not really true to the style.

Can at home, watching France vs England, 10/03/18. Light black with a decent khaki head that retains well. Nose is earthy, dusty fruits, cocoa powder, light charr, mellow roast, light spice, dates. Taste comprises toffee, molasses, cocoa sprinkle, light ashen tones, toasted brown bread, crystallised brown sugars, fruit cake, toffee fudge. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a faint hop tickle in the close. Decent well rounded Baltic affair.

Keg @ Station. Pours dark, small pale tan head. Aroma has some roast, dark chocolate. Taste presents some odd moments past the initial roasted malts, a little tangy perhaps with some savoury umami scampi fries, softened by some berry and coffee hints. Most odd.
