Our first Baltic Porter, brewed with a rich malt base featuring caramel, Vienna, Munich and Carafa Special malts. We used WLP833 for fermentation and 6 weeks of lagering, and the resulting beer was brightened up with a very light dry hop of Ekuanot.

Can at home from The Cage. I had the BBN version the previous night, so this was a good comparison. A good pour and a huge aroma of roasted malt. The taste and the mouthfeel were incredibly rich and swamped my palate. I have to say that this was a bit too much for me and there wasn't much drinkability. I preferred the BBN version..

Half pint, keg at Cloudwater Barrel Store Tap Room. Black in the glass, beige hea leaving crocheted lacing on the glass. Coffee and chocolate aromas, promising. Grainy chocolate, nuts and coffee to the flavour character, hints of herbal hops. Mid-dry malt-driven end, not overly sweet. Well bodied. Pleasant stuff. Bottle from Hogs Back Brewery Shop. Hooper aroma than I expected, with some spiced coffee. Dark with a brow tint. Frothy beige head. Medium bitter. Coffee, dark chocolate coated liquorice, rye-like spice and some hoppy quinine. Medium bodied. Slick but relatively light. Average carbonation. Long dry and astringent finish. Interesting beer. Being half-Finish I should really have friend more Baltic Porters.

Tap at Brewdog seven dials. Nose is distinct Cloudwater hops, some coffee, some pine. Palate is super fruity toasty, roasty chocolate, this tastes like a amber beer :D. Ingeniously done, but not true to style.

Draught @ In De Wildeman. Black color, but not opaque. Stiff light brown head. Aroma's: roasty, sweetish, red fruit. Retronasal it's roasty, umami, a bit funky, tar. Flavor is moderate sweet, roasted, tar. Medium bodied. Finishes with some tar, light bitter. The funkiness in the aroma seems off.
