Inspired by ancient recipes,Russian Imperial Stout has absorbed the atmosphere of the 19th century. The beer has an intense, rich flavor thanks to a phenomenal combination of ingredients and an outstanding complex aroma that comes from the use of roasted and caramel malts in the recipe.

Wytrawnosc srednia. Ogolnie nawet nie za slodkie. Szokuja te niskie oceny, ale powiem ze jest nawet lepsze niz wysoko ocenione - (niektore) RISy ze Stanow.

Deep dark brown coloured body with an almost black glow at the top end, with a thinnish tan head, only a centimetre or so tall. About 80% opaque as well, with a touch of light coming through near the bottle. Medium-bodied; Assertive rich nutty and roasted malt flavours dominate with some light coffee and grain and a good deal of sweetness from caramel and pitted fruits like prunes, raisins and plums near the finish. Aftertaste shows mainly the deep bitter flavours of the malt, licorice, nuts, earth and some sweetness as well, but not too thick bodied, relatively thin, especially for the style. Overall, a decent Imperial Stout at best, with a milky, lactose finish, showing some pungent grains, tons of roasted malt, a touch of licorice and a good deal of residual sugars as well. Not a horrible drink, but probably not worth trying to find, either. If you saw it and it's worth the price to you - pick it up! I sampled this 500 mL tallneck bottle purchased yesterday at Corner Store (Bait & Tackle) in West Palm Beach, Florida on 26-December-2017 for US$4,89 sampled in my hotel room the following day in Cocoa Beach, Florida on 27-December-2017. Production Date on Bottle: 02.12.14, with a best by of: 02.12.15 - I'm pretty sure that is 02 December 2015, so this bottle was quite old in the store, but that's alright - perhaps the aging was done properly FOR me!

Thanks v&h. Almost black cola body, tiny off white head. Creamy malty aroma. Sweetish, raisins, dark fruit, blackberry, caramel, some alcohol. Taste... Bitter, dusty, stale caramel. Sweetish touches. Heavy, some alcohol. Okay. Dunno. Hoped for far more after the genuinely nice aroma. Still fine.

Bottle, 500 ml from Beerville, shared with JFK10000. Pours dark brown, medium beige head. Roasted malts, chocolate, licorice, quite sweet, some alcohol is evident, bit too much. Bitterish finish. Not very complex. Warming. Medium bodied.
