On tap. Sweet and conifer, a lot of juniper, malt, bread, medium hop bitterness, original beer.

Helsinki brewery, bottle. Hazy deep amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is dry and finely minerally crisp. Spicy rye malts. Dry bitter floralness. Perfumey floral spice that edges toward soapy. Dry juniper fruits. A little orange before a dry finish. It’s a little odd but okay, not quite the Estonian Sahti I was hoping for.

Bottle. The aroma reminds me of sahti. Taste has got heavy notes of asparagus. Its sweet and has got a nice light mouthfeel. Heavy notes of tigerbalsam.

Pours hazy amber, getting closer to copper. Aroma is woody, sweetness is gone, soft juniper. For some reason makes me think of the moss growing on a juniper tree. Some black bread and spices also. Taste is slightly bitter, just as tasting raw juniper branch - with peels and everything. Really woody, body feels a bit thin - and that is a good thing, rye spiciness is adding to the sensation. Wow, I didn’t really expect it but I do like this beer a lot. Little ageing has definitely benefitted it, coming together quite nicely now. I am not getting any Õllenaut house character - thick plasticky malt flavour - which is a big plus in my book.

33cl bottle from SIP veini- ja õllepood, Tallinn. Pours somewhat hazy amber with a fairly modest off-white head. Fairly malty, but juniper is dominating the aroma, and in my book that works out well. Fairly spicy with juniper, hints of pine and caramel and some fruity notes too. Moderate to medium sweet with nice juniper flavour and a balanced bitterness. Refreshing one this!

33cl bottle from Hopsunited. Pours brown mahogany color with a thin white head. Lovely juniper aroma, wood, sweet wort like notes in aroma. Flavor has juniper, wood, light sweetness. Juniper lingering in the bitter finish. Balanced, very nice spicy brew.

Bottle, batch 154 (from Koht). Pours amber-brown with beige head. The head doesn’t stay. Aroma is sour, cucumber, juniper, some smoke and rye. Flavor is sweet and bitter, juniper, rye, cucumber, spicey notes, malt, slight smoke again. Finish is dry bitter with juniper. Overall: don’t like cucumber and it’s somewhat messy, but I like juniper, so this is ok.
