Imperial Triple Brown Ale
Turbodog is the inspiration for this robust, dark ale. This velvety ale is brewed with generous amounts of pale, caramel and chocolate malts and Willamette hops. It is aged with whole natural vanilla beans for the natural flavor and aroma of creamy vanilla. This combination provides a rich body and color with chocolate, vanilla and toffee-like flavors.

HAHA, somebody spelled the name of this incorrectly in the RB database; it's TRPL DOG on the bottle! Pours a big dark beer, like a stout & the nose is alarming sweet and somewhat metallic. First taste is totally cloying pastry stout, fer sher; it's big alky on top of vanilla, heavy up front. You like pastry brews? This mess is for you. Its starts to feel like a sweet bomb in the middle. Becomes somewhat mouth coating. To call this a brown ale may be misleading to the potential buyer. The only thing about this being a brown ale, is that its brown. But its a little too dark for a brown ale at that, yes, dark like a stout my RB peer. Yea, this is a big ass beer but can't be a brawny. Becomes unfriendly & mouth coating on the finish. In the end its nothing like the Petrucci Brothers (Bullseye) Date Nite (8.4%), or the Lost Coast Winterbraun nor the Atwater Mint Double Decadent. But I have to say, the Double Decadent is also most likely a pastry, too!

12 oz bottle from Total Wine - Las Vegas. Pours a crystal clear super dark mahogany color with a beige head and great retention. Decent lacing. As expected, aroma of vanilla and some dark malt. Sweet brown sugar and vanilla flavors, but not overly sweet, with some light nutty/caramel notes and a smoother than expected finish. Not much of a brown ale, but I like the flavors. Especially the vanilla bean. Medium-light body. A little thin for a brown ale. Low carbonation. Low bitterness. The 8.0% ABV is very well hidden. Enjoyable dessert brown ale.

12oz bottle. Sweet, heavy, sugary. Pastry overboard sweetness. Big vanilla. Pretty much the same sweetness as 13-14% beer. Lacks balance, almost begs to be blended with something else. Overall pretty unimpressive.

Lots of vanilla, brown sugar, and cocoa notes, too sweet for such a thin-bodied beer. Vanilla clings to the palate until the very end, offset by the slightest of bitter streaks into the fade. An ice cream sandwich of a beer. Pass.
