On tap at Olde Hansa, served in a clay / stoneware jug, so I can't comment on the appearance. Way too much anise and liquorice in both aroma and flavour, also other spices and herbs, including caraway, and quite sweet, but still drinkable. Worth a go.

Smell of licorice root, spices (thyme?). Bronze colour, light brown head. Aroma of licorice root, vanilla, some oaky notes, cough mixture. Sweet. Lively carbon. Too sweet and candy-like, but otherwise fine.

33cl bottle from Sip, Tallinn. Pours dark mahogany with a modest, beige to off-white head. Surprisingly herbal aroma, almost like a herbal liquer - mild licorice and one of the most dominant aromas reminds me at least of wormwood, but not sure if it is. A bit too much almost, but fairly enjoyable.

Bottle (thanks marduk). Pours dark brown with beige head. Aroma is spices and herbs. Flavor is sweet and bitter, herbs, spices, malt. Overall: not my thing, but not awful. --- Beer merged from original tick of The Crafty Monk's Ürdiõlu on 09 Nov 2017 at 13:12
