Kloster beer saw the light in 1995, when Gotland Brewery opened. One can therefore conclude that it is the market's first färsköl with stand as trendsetters for other Swedish färsköl. The malt comes from both Sweden and Finland. The hops from Germany and the USA. The yeast from the Scottish Highlands and the unique water from Gotland. The result is a trend-setter!

Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, yeast and hint of dried fruits. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter. Body is light to medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle at home, ordered from Ocado. Gooseberry, banana and lemon notes fight with a harsh astringency in the aroma. Taste is a heavily medicinal bitter. Fizzy carbonation on the palette. Pleasant fruity aftertaste. This isn’t great but is at least drinkable.

Sample at Olstugan, Andra Lang. Poured a hazy straw colour with a thin white head. The aroma is yeast light hop. The flavour is medium bitter with a nice hop bitter light malt palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Ein unflitriertes, unpasteurisiertes Frischbier. Bin mal gespannt. Im Glas bernstein-trüb, frisch-säuerlicher Ale-Geruch. Der Antrunk ist frisch-süßlich. Zum Hauptteil entfalten sich leckere Hefearomen und ich meine auch, das enthaltene Weizenmalz herauszuschmecken. Sehr süffig. Der Nachgeschmack ist etwas flach und säuerlich ale-typisch. Dabei leicht frisch-hefig und angenehm herb-würzig. Auf der Zunge bleibt eine herb-hefig-würzige Note. Leckeres Bier!

Aroma average, watery, some malt, nothing really interesting. White head, hazy between amber and copper. Bitter, floarl side tastes and hints of sweetness. Slight aftertaste has also some floral and subtle bitterness. Medium carbonation. Overall: not really good or exciting in any way.

33cl bottle. Bb 16.04.2014. Hazy amber, lacing frothy white head. Hoppy, caramelly, malty aroma. Flavor has hops, nuts and some sweetness. Ligt bitter finish. Quite enjoyable, light to medium bodied.

On tap at Ardberg Embassy. Cloudy amber beer, little white head. Palate is crisp and a little dry. Semi sweet malt, dry but fresh. Trace of citrus. Semi dry finish. Something of a fresh air beer but fresh and drinkable.
