"Brew Master Johan Spendrup has landed in a pitch-black brew that is slightly drier and additionally a little harder than roasted superstar Guinness. The finishing touch is a touch of smoked malt that actually lifts the Wisby Stout to a level above its famous role model. After a couple of Guiness are you pretty satisfied after two Wisby Stout wants to have another one. " Thomas Berglund - Swedish Dagbladet

A black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of hops and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and hops, leading to a bitter finish.

Keg at Ardbeg Embassy, Stockholm. Pours black-brown-red with a mocha-tan foam cap. Dark, toasty malt nose, burnt leaves, earth. Light sweet flavor with lots of dry, charred malts, gritty toast, soil, dirt, minerals and burnt grass bitterness. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Quite dry and bitter to finish, with rich charcoal, dark earth, dry cocoa, faint coffee grinds. Pretty gritty. Not bad. Nice charred wood notes, dustry cocoa.

Restaurant Pelikan: Pours a black body with a beige head. Aroma is roasted malt and bitter chocolate. Taste is unfortunately a step down from the aroma. It is mostly weak chocolate and weak roast. The body is too thin, as oft is the case for the dry stout. Quite mediocre.

Medium brown head. Opaque black body, at least in here. Soft roasty chocolatey aroma with mealy notes. Dry-sweet roasty burnt taste with mealy chocolatey notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dry roasty chocolate and licorice aftertaste with mealy notes. Not really all that much flavour. (0.4l draft at Bishops Arms, Järntorget, Göteborg.)
