Bottle @ Cristianssand Brygghus. Dark brown body with a dense, fine lacing beige head. Quite mild in aroma, some malt, caramel, slightly roasted/toast and hint of dry fruit. Flavor is sweet, dark malt, caramel, dry cocoa powder and spicy yeast – a little hint of baking yeast as well actually. Medium body and average in aftertaste. Feel a bit unfinished, might need some storage to settle.

330ml bottle, 161, 9,5 % abv, bought at Vinmonopolet in Arendal. Durable fawn-coloured head, clingy lacing, deep rustic brown body. Inviting smell of caramel and mild syrup. Powerful taste of caramel, liquorice, and dried fruits. Rounded roasted finish, not overly sweet. Long-lived. Likeable. (Hotel room, Arendal 26.11.2022).

Bottle, at Håndverkeren. It pours an unclear brown body under a dense, beige head. Curtains. Roasted malts, coffee, dried fruits, licorice hints, some spiced notes and a touch of brown sugar in the aroma. It’s warming, full-bodied and superbly carbonated, with a suitable level of bitterness. There’s a touch of grass in the flavor, probably caused by the hops, with the same delicious stuff found in the aroma. Roasted malts, dried fruits, some brown sugar, a yeasty spice note and a faint hint of licorice. Some cocoa chiming in toward the lasting finish. A really delicious beer, would love to cellar some bottles for next Christmas. 181115

Christianssand Brygghus 061118. Dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, spices. Flavor is apple, roasted malt, hop, yeast, coffee, alcohol, caramel, hint of dried fruits, hint of spices. OK beer.

330 ml unlabelled bottle, from the brewery. Cloudy and very dark brown colour, large beige head. Aroma of malts, brown kandij sugar, caramel, Belgian ale yeast and Chistmas spices, also a hint of solvent. Fizzy mouthfeel, a bit overcarbonated. Sweet flavour of malts, kandij sugar, caramel and spices. I am not sure if this will improve or deteriorate till the Christmas season begins primo November.
