This ale poured a clear light yellow colour with a soapy, bright white head. To the nose there are scents of ginger, candy canes, menthol and cough drops. First sip was very sweet with light ginger flavor. Still the candy cane sweetness. Finish is sweet as hell with a light ginger heat.

Bouteille 500ml.

Bottle from Gluggles in York. Pours a light orange gold with a creamy/fizzy white head. Strong aroma of ginger and perfume. Med body. Flavor is rather spicy ginger. Which sticks around. After a bit it suggests having eaten a ginger snap. Finishes towards dry, but not aggressively so. I might preferr Blandford Fly. Interesting to consider.

Single brown bottle at the LCBO. Pours a clean golden-amber colour with a soapy white head, decent retention but not much lace. Smells like mild ginger ale. The taste is too sweet (not sure why they added sugar to this one - ginger is good on its own). A little spicy ginger root taste, but not enjoying the sweetness with it. Hints of citrus. Not much that resembles to beer and too close to pop. Had better ginger beer than this recently.

Bottled 500ml. -Dark golden coloured, small off-white head, intensive ginger nose (a bit too artificial). This one is totally one-dimensional. Overwhelming ginger taste with some lemony notes and prickly ginger finish. One bottle is recommended but everything more than that is suicide.

Pours amber with a small head.Lots of ginger in the aroma, little else underneath, just some faint vegetal notes.Sweet flavours, with some biting ginger as well. A bit cloying.Needs more carbonation.Seemed refreshing at first but the sweetness is over the top.

Bottled (from K CM Kivihaka, Vaasa). Amber colour, small off-white head. Aroma is lemon and ginger with some sweet sugary notes. Flavour is surprisingly ginger root, lemon, some floral notes as well as mild caramel. Nice semiburning ginger staying for quite a long time in the aftertaste. Tastes almost like the "Sima" we do for May 1st in Finland, but with the ginger added to it.

50cl bottle from Waitrose. Amber with a billowing white head that cleared very quickly; unsurprisingly there’s a ginger aroma; the flavour is sweet with a strong root ginger flavour and an earthy body; and long lasting gingery spice finish. The ginger’s good, but it’s too sweet and sugary overall for me.
