Stylish bottle. Color: Lightly hazy golden to orange amber, white head. Aroma: Floral and fruity notes. Taste: Moderate tart, fruity notes of berries, grape. Subtle floral and old hop notes. Some oak wood, tannins and minerals. Some figs, mostly towards amd at the finish. Medium body, just below average carbonation. Dry-ish mouthfeel. Easy drinkable, low complexity. Nice one overall.

The latest of these Kluysbosch lambics by Angerik to date, macerated with figs and, like the previous ones, coming from a curvy, brandy style bottle with cork. Snow white, moussey, medium thick, opening head on a hazy orangey peach blonde robe. Aroma of indeed fresh green figs straight from the fig tree, crabapple, green plum, dried lemon peel, toasted sunflower seeds, sourdough, raw green bell pepper, wet leather, fig (or grape) leaf, manna grass. Crisp onset, tart redcurrant and wild apple effects, lemony with some sea buckthorn berry-like astringency to it – fruity but wry, probably the figs speaking; medium carb, smooth mouthfeel, light and fruity lactic acidity, hints of raw celeriac and green bell pepper retronasally no doubt coming from those figs as well. Tannic woodiness and leathery Brett funkiness add further complexity in the finish, while this fruity astringency lingers, turning a tad bitter orange-like in the end. I can only compare with the fig lambics that came out of Tilquin’s experimental fruit lambic series and in this one, the emphasis lies less on fruitiness and more on the astringency produced by, I suppose, the seeds and skins of the figs, but admittedly with very interesting results. One I would love to revisit with a bit more age on it.

23/VII/24 - 75cl bottle, shared @ Alengrin’s place, BB: 7/XI/25 (2024-597) Thanks to Alengrin for sharing the bottle!

Cloudy orange to beige beer, small creamy yellowish head, unstable, a bit adhesive. Aroma: pretty earthy, grains, lemony, fruity. MF: lively carbon, medium to light body. Taste: pretty bitter, earthy, very lemony, sourish, a bit malty, funky, acidic, pretty oxidized. Aftertaste: a little fruity, earthy, dry, bitter, herbal touch, ok but I was expecting more from a lambic.

Bottle shared. Bit hazy orange golden with creamy almost white head. Sweet malts, barnyard funk, quite floral, sweet figs, elderberries, wheat, green twigs. Medium sweet, less sour and light bitter. Almost full bodied. Pretty nice! I don't get a lot of figs but it's very tasty.
