Butt is a wonderful pear which ripens late in the season. Hard as a rock until just when it ripens, this bottle is actually a blend of Butt grown on Broome Farm and on Carswell Farm. The dual sourcing of fruit adds complexity to the single variety - showcasing the full range of Butt's characteristics of light acidity, a floral and elderflowery nose, with a gripping tannic finish. A magical, ancient pear to be treasured.

Clear 750ml via Press online; $23. Which isn't terrible for an import that had to move twice.

Pint glass. Pale gold, soda splash, active, bit of a protein haze, looks good.
Heavy clay, footy funk nose, cooked down veg.
Taste is cleaner, dry, soft pineapple, building texture, drying pith, a little salt, drying pomegranate pith finish.

Very approachable Perry. Ended up very okay. 3.8

750ml bottle from Cat in the Glass. For #rgpm. Sparkling, golden colour, white foam head that retains and aroma of perry pear, citric, floral, alittle funk. Taste is slightly tart, perry pear, fleshy, with some elderflower, citric acidity and drying tannin. Medium bodied, fine spritzy carbonation, dry tannic peary finish. Nicely drinkable.
