Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Thornbridge online. Pours clear honey gold with a modest, foamy white head. Light sweet flavour with delicate caramel tones, bready malts, lightly toasted leaves, subtle marmalade, English yeast, citrus rind. Light bodied with massaging carbonation. Sweet, bready finish. Delicious.

Bottle. Thanks Simon. Fruity malty nose. The beer starts mild and malty. Dry, caramel with hazelnuts. Creamy, a bit thin. Mild fruity, caramel and soft grain, dry bitter in the end. Nice.

(Cask at Lyric, Soho, London, 22 May 2023) Amber colour with foamy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried apricots, orange peel and caramel. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, apricots, orange peel and a balanced resiny/citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well made bitter. Very nice.

A light haze on this amber beer, small cream colour head. Airy palate, a mild dryness, decent fine carbonation. Soft malt base, a nice mellow creamy sweetness. Coffee and nuts? Well alright, a whisper of coffee if you are looking for it, touch of walnut. The star of this show is the English hops, punchy orchard fruits, soft pine into rounded apple and a mild pear, mild plum and then very soft floral ripe citrus, mild lime. Smooth finish leaves a mild linger. Very nicely done, wonderful English hops. If you are an old git, like me, and you have been drinking craft beer for many years, like me, you will remember a time when the release of new Thornbridge beers was an event. Then the craft beer scene went racing past like a top fuel dragster against a London cab. But here we are, Thornbridge are still around and improving and many of the dragsters have crashed and burned or converted into ev people carriers. Hmm!

Bottled 500ml (Alko web)
Nut brown colour, mostly vanishing head. Nutty maltyness and caramalt in the nose. Light-bodied. Sweetish, quite flat, is there tartness lurking? Drinkable but in the edge of some infection maybe.
