In the days before lager, Pale Ale was the original reassuringly expensive tipple. Drinking it set you apart from the Bitter crowd. Our Pale Ale is more than special. English Goldings, American Cascade & Cluster hops provide the bitterness, whilst our unique dry hopping technique with bucketfuls of Cascade & Willamette hops gives it a tantalising aroma.

On tap @ Royal Burger & Gin, Bergen. Pours golden with a creamy head. Aroma is hoppy apricots and orange peel, as well as roasted malts with grain. Medium body with average carbonation. Flavour is sweet with roasted malts, and some hoppy notes with lingering orange peel in the finish.

Tap at Brew Wharf, 28/12/13. Clear golden with a moderate white covering that retains well. Nose is toasted malts, caramel, orange, bitter fruit notes, light hops. Taste comprises orange, dull pine, faint metallic nip, toasted malt, some hops. Medium bodied, carbonation is a little too prickly and overcooked, grassy bitterness in the cessation. Drinkable and good to see at bars that aside from this only offer macro. However things have moved on and whilst the was something I’d look for 7 or 8 years ago palates change and a whole host of new London brewers can offer much hoppier solutions to my drinkng needs.

On tap @ Kick Malt & Mat. Slightly hazy orange body with an OK off-white head. Quite light, but nice aroma dominated by citric fruit and a hint of pale malt. Flavor is light and refreshing pale malt, fruity, peaches and decent bitterness. Medium body with a decent aftertaste. Quaffable, smooth and well balanced session ale. Nice.

33 cl bottle @ home. Rated on 09.12.2010
Lots of foaming right away when I opened the cap. And more when pouring. Aroma is a bit ashy with gooseberry bush and some biscuits. Flavour is somewhat straightforward and hoppy with gooseberry bush, some fruits and hints of ash. A bit weird and thin but ok.
