Schramm’s Heritage Raspberry is a cousin to our standard Raspberry melomel, made exclusively with Heritage raspberries, the same variety used in Schramm’s The Heart of Darkness. Grown and loved by the Schramm family for generations, we were able to find a high-quality commercial source for these berries that took us back to picking them off the bushes in Grandpa Schramm’s backyard. We think this jammy, bright and extremely flavorful mead would make him proud.

Refrigerated 375 ml clear bottle, batch 3, May 30, 2018, poured into a glass. Translucent Marron with no head. Aroma is rich raspberry, medium body, no carbonation, and no lacing. Taste is nice rich sweet raspberry.

Sample from Batch 2 at Lizardville Westerville for "A Night With Schramm's Mead" on 05/25/2018. This Mead is a clear deep purplish red color with a minimal head and sticky legs on the glass. Aroma of raspberry, honey and spice. Full-bodied with flavors of sweet-tart raspberry, floral honey and spices. The finish is fruity with a raspberry aftertaste. Good Mead all around.

Süffiger, leicht alkoholischer Beginn mit dunkler Himbeere. Steigend alkoholisch, die vergorenen Fruchtnoten bleiben konstant, intensiv, süffig. Zum Ende steigt der Alkohol in die Nase, würzig, feine und konstante Honignoten. Weich, sehr langer Nachgeschmack. Gut. 9/11/9/12/12/10

Amazing! Black/raspberry/skin/seed/currant/plum/apricot/raisin/red grape/wine/orange/floral/honey/brown sugar; lt cocoa/vanilla/herbal. Sweet/silky/full body. Lt acid/tannic drying. No cloying. Min warmth. Rich berry/honey completely, amazingly balanced.

Batch 2. A burgundy red mead with aroma of meaty raspberry jam, light acidity, light leather, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity raspberry jam with light acidity, light mineral notes, alcohol warmth, very nice. Batch 3 is same color, aroma but lightly smoother and sweet, less leathery, still very nice. Bottle at meadery.

Bottle shared by Yaniv, thanks! Pours a clear purplish ruby with no head whatsoever. Aroma combines sweet raspberry and tart raspberry with sweet honey. Flavor has sweet raspberry with a touch of tartness and sweet honey backing.

Bottle into a teku showing moderately translucent crimson and thin bodied. The nose shows deep intense notes of raspberries and plum. The palate is medium bodied yet thick. Moderately sweet with deeply intense flavors of raspberry, strawberry, and ripe plum with accents of honey in between. Perfectly balanced. Fantastic
