An American IPA characterised by a clear hoppiness, accompanied by smojky notes. The result is a complex beer offering a balance of sweet, smoky fragrances followed by the delicate tannic sensations provided by a finish with oak chips. Between the end of the 19th Century and the middle of the 20th Century, Milanese people used the term “Gamba di legno” (in Lombard “Gamba de legn”, in English "Wooden leg") to refer to steam locomotives.

On tap at Open Baladin, Rome on 2nd July 2018. Hazy gold with shallow white foam and full lacing. Smoky malt aroma. A good balance of malt, citrus and smoke in-mouth, and in finish. Zingy mouthfeel and a good deal of body. Bold yet subtle at the same time.

(Draught at Chez Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 20 May 2017) Golden colour with dense, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of tropical fruit, pineapple, citrus and resin. Malty, hoppy taste with tropical fruit, pineapple, resin, a touch of smoke and a balanced citric/metallic bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Fresh and tasty, more IPA than smoked. Nice one.

On tap at Koht, Tallinn. Slight hazy amber with a decent, off-white head. Smoky aroma, on the Light side, but still dominating. Fruity and yeasty notes comes next - feels like a weird mixture, not unpleasant, but strange. Moderate to medium sweet with somewhat mild smoky and fruity flavours and a moderate bitter finish. Smooth, fairy tasty, but strange thing...

Tap at koht. Pours amber with whiteish head. The small head stays. Aroma is fruity, citrus, peach. Flavor is sweet and bitter, citrus, smoke, sausage. Finish is citrus and dry bitter. Overall: ok.

on tap leggermente ramata buona schiuma buona persistenza luppolatura agrumata intensa lievi note tostate legno? Una lieve nota tannica discreto amaro buona beva
