The latest addition to Boneyard’s growing family of beers – a 14-percent imperial stout, dubbed Suge Knite, and pronounced just like the infamous gangsta rap producer – is the Evander Holyfield of ales: a serious heavyweight.
Inspired by another oversize stout, the Dark Lord, from Indiana’s 3 Floyds brewery, with whom Boneyard Brewmaster Tony Lawrence previously collaborated on Boneyard’s Cascadian ale, Armored Fist. Suge Knight is a massive beer that Lawrence said took some real coaxing throughout the brewing process. The result is a near masterpiece that is proving popular with people who might not usually reach for a Russian stout at the end of their shift. Stay stout, Bend.

Draught @ CBC 2014 [ Blue Session ]. - Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014, Sparta Hallen, Gunnar Nu Hansens Plads 11, 2100 Copenhagen, Denmark [ As Boneyard Suge Knite ].Clear dark brown color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, carbage water, herbs, vegetables, peas. Flavour is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, roasted, vegetables, peas. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Very high ABV for a not very powerfull beer ! [20140502]

Keg at the Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2014, blue session. 02/05/2014. Aroms is composed of earthy coffee beans, some hot alcohol. Caramel coloured pour with a thin cream coloured head. Flavour is composed of some bacon, caramel, salty roast, salted caramel. Palate is efforvescent, highish carbonation. decent.

Draught at CBC 2014. Opaque black liquid with a small tan head. Aroma of dried fruit, licorice, wood, chocolate and coffee. Taste is light sweet and light bitter with notes of licorice and dried fruit. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Nice.

CBC Session 2. Opaque black - brown beer, small pale tan head. Palate is surprisingly light and crispy. Smooth dark malts, a little dry. Alcohol spice. Touch of dark malt roast. Bitter dark chocolate. Finishes dry and crisp. All right.

Tap @ CBC, 14. Very dark brown with small beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and caramel. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, caramel, medium sweet, hop, oak and a little bitter.

[5/2/14] Draught sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. 2nd session. Black with a light brown head. Aroma of dark fruits, roastiness, licorice and coffee. Roasty and alcoholic flavor with coffee, dark fruits and a bitter burnt boozy finish. Full-bodied.
