På Cardinaltreff jan-14: servert fra fat under navnet Christianssand Stout. en tørr og noe enkel men meget lettdrikkelig stout.Smakt parallelt med Ægirs Lir, og falt nok et byggaks eller to bak denne.

Foamy initially from tap. Not much head in glas. Black. Medicinal aroma. Also in taste and finnish. Some liquorice.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger, as Christianssand Stout. ABV is 6%. Very foamy, took a long time to pour. Black colour, tan head. Dryish aroma of roasted barley, wood and cold coffee. Dry flavour, roasty and very woody, ashy finish. Not my favourite stout this one, but drinkable.

On tap @ the brewpub. Practically pitch black body with a good looking, dense tan head. Pleasant aroma of roasted malt and fresh coffee. Flavor is smooth roasted dark malt, chocolate, coffee and pleasant bitterness. Fine body and nice roasted aftertaste with a bitter ending (happy ending?). A very nice, tasty and pleasant stout in a way that places Guinness back in the shadows.

On tap at the brewpub. It pours next to black in color, with a curtains leaving beige head of two finger height. The aroma is pretty pleasant, with notes of bonfire and prunes, as well as freshly boiled coffee, dark chocolate and roasted malts. It’s quite bitter and hop tasting, with the prunes and bonfire known from the aroma, and roasted malts as a backbone. Full body and a pleasant carbonation level. Sure a beer I’d be happy to repeat. And will. 131010
