Pours slightly hazy amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, dried fruits, alcohol and some spices?. Taste is medium to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long warm, boozy, caramel, fruity and hint of licorice finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation soft to fizzy.

Smaksprøve på Cafe Sara, nov-14: uklar gylden med tett hvitt skum. Veldig fin balanse mellom bitterhet og maltsødme. En meget kompetent tripel. Cafe Sara må bli fast landingsplass ved Oslobesøk.

20 cl sample @ the brewpub. Unclear amber body with a small to medium sized off-white head. Spicy and fruity aroma, even a bit floral. Flavor is medium sweet malt, fruity, berries, spicy, dry fruit in a vinous way and hint of sugar. Fine body and pleasant aftertaste. Slightly unusually and interesting, very easy to drink as well.

On tap at the brewpub. A dark amber colored beer, hazy and with a dense two finger light beige head. The aroma is rather boozy at first, with banana, some caramel, dried fruits and a faint spiced touch. Some chocolate-ish hints too, guess that’s the tonka beans. Some yeast too initially, but that luckily fades soon. The yeast and booze is a bit more persistent in the flavor, the banana, caramel, and dried fruits shows up too, so do a fine bitterness. Hints of something reminiscent of chocolate. Not too sweet, full body and a soft carbonation. Lasting finish. Overall, too boozy, but quite nice anyway. 141115
