Growler. Almost clear, deep, nut brown body with a medium to big sized beige head. Aroma is quite strong with medium roasted malt, biscuit, chocolate and some dry fruit. Flavor goes in the same direction with smooth, roasted malt, dark chocolate, hint of coffee, some dry fruit and balanced bitterness. Fine balanced body (particular considering the low ABV) and long, pleasant aftertaste. A balanced malt driven beer in the grocery marked strength that actually give me some kind of Christmas spirit.

330 ml bottle, batch #110, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.5%. Hazy dark brown colour, moderate to low beige head. Aroma of fruity and piney hops (probably American), also notes of moderately roasted malts. The flavour is fresh with a nice fruitiness from the hops, also fairly distinct roast malts and coffee notes. Piney hops in the finish, with a whiff of smoke.

Growler. It’s an almost clear chestnut brown beer with a dense finger thick beige head. The aroma is quite biscuity and bready, with coffee and some dark chocolate and prunes. It’s a bit thin on the palate, which of course is expected considering the ABV, nicely carbonated and semi-sweet. Roasted, bready malts, caramel and a nice bitterness in the flavor. Even soon dried fruits and a hint of bonfire. Long roasted and bitter finish. Sure one of the most interesting store strength Christmas beers. 161119
