American styled India Pale Ale that is big, resinous and stoked with amazing fresh hops. Copper coloured with a strong malt body and alcohol content allows us to lash hops at it and create a beer worth sending on a stormy voyage.

Aged sample Small yellow head ove reddish amber beer, well-carbonated. Rosewater and exotic fruit hops (lychee mainly), bit of caramel, oxydation. Sweet, with hoppy flavours, again rosewater, but with a vegetable/resiny bittterish finish. Warming up, a new, outspoken orange(peel) flavour. Bit light body, low carbonation, hopoilslick. Quite OK! Thanks to Stefaan!

From the tap at FOB, Rimini, Italy. Pours dark gold worth white foam. Aroma is resinous and with some herbaceous. Body is medium-dense. Taste is bitter, markedly bitter. Some time after drafting, the beer shows a weird and unpleasant smell, maybe oxidation, which rings the experience. So my grades are somehow an average of before and after.

KeyKeg at the 2016 Cambridge Beer Festival. Golden brown with the hintiest hint of red. Proud off-white head. Pine resin, papaya and a note of PVC in the aroma. Bitter taste tempered at first by sweetness, but then left to its own devices. Full, long, satisfying resinous bitter finish. It’s a bit churlish to say ’I expect more from my IPAs’ while rating this a (well-deserved) 3.5... however it’s a bit too ’by-the-numbers’ for me.
