American styled India Pale Ale that is big, resinous and stoked with amazing fresh hops. Copper coloured with a strong malt body and alcohol content allows us to lash hops at it and create a beer worth sending on a stormy voyage.

Bottle. A clear-looking dark golden to amber beer with dense, finger-thick off-white head. The aroma is peachy and piney, with orange zest and a little maltyness. There’s a nice bitterness in the flavor, with orange zest, pine cones and some grapefruit. Medium body, soft and pleasant carbonation. Long, piney and bitter finish with a decent bitterness. Juicy. Not a favorite of mine, but quite decent and drinkable. 140608

Bottle from Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Hazy, copper colour. Thin, bubbly, sticky, white head. It’s all there. Toffee sweetness. Resin. Stewed fruit. But there’s a butteriness, that doesn’t sit right. Taste is brûlée sweet. Lots of bitterness, too. Heavy, sweet palate. Finish is long and bitter. The butter thing dominates.

Cask handpull at The Craft Clerkenwell. Clear amber colour lasting beige head. Sweetish ipa. Some hop some malty sweetness. Ok condition. Just a bit too much malt. Crystal? ? Ok though.

50cl bottle. Bb 03 JUL 14. Dark amber, near reddish with white head. Caramel, hops, berries, herbal notes in aroma. Flavor has gooseberries, caramel, herbs, hops. Feels quite tired, old bottle I guess. Bitter finish.

Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized slightly off-white head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is herbal, quite nicely fruity and berryish along with some mild honey and toffee to it as well. Flavour is a bit berryish, some spruce, pine, mild grass, fruity and floral notes as well as some sweet malts and toffee as well. Fresh!

Bottled 500ml (AbM, BB 07/2014)
Amber color, steady medium-sized head. Strong gooseberry bush aroma, kind of Sorachi Ace feeling. Medium-bodied. Similar gooseberry in the flavor, resiny with some fruityness and pine needles. A bit this and that. For this ABV has reasonably nice drinkably and has nice malt profile too.
