Bottle. A clear looking chestnut colored beer with a nice-looking dark beige head. The aroma has a bit too much yeastyness, with some dark bread dough, a good dash of dark chocolate and nuts, roasted malts and a touch of coffee. Some earthy and very lightly orangey flavors too. It's full-bodied and very lightly warming, nicely carbonated and semi-dry, with a mostly malty flavor. Bread, nuts, dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts and a touch of earthyness and pan roasted champignon. Medium length finish. Not sure if this was a good way to use kveik, it makes it feel too yeasty and homebrewish. 220516

330 ml bottle, lot #235, Cardinal Pub, Stavanger. ABV is 8.0%. Hazy dark brown colour, large to moderate off-white to beige head. Strong aroma of brown malts, caramel, brown bread and burnt breadcrumbs. Well balanced flavour, notes of brown malts, nuts, caramel and moderate hops, also fruity hints of kveik and prunes.

Slightly unclear dark brown body under a nice tan head. Aroma has caramel malt, bread, dark chocolate and a touch of yeast (kveik). Taste is medium sweet caramel malt, nutty, some dark fruit, distinct dark chocolate, yeast, bread and fine bitterness. Balanced body and same aftertaste. Served too cold, but the beer opens up very nicely as it gets heated up å bit. It’s a nice, robust brown ale with a twist and I always appreciate the dark chocolate taste in my brown ale.
