Vintermørk Jule Ale

330 ml bottle, batch L84, from Vinmonopolet Sauda. ABV is 7.4%. Nearly black colour, moderate to small beige head. Aroma of malts, sourish black rye bread, a hint of liquorice. The flavour is also malty and moderately sweet, notes of chocolate, mild coffee, black bread and a hint of liquorice, moderate hops. Not bad.

Bottle. Dark brown, almost black body with a fine, stable beige head. Aroma has malt, some caramel and hint of rye bread. Taste is sweet, dark malt, some caramel and medium bitterness. Balanced body and average aftertaste. Nothing special, but well made with decent taste combined with easy drinkability that makes it a rather food friendly Christmas alternative. One of the better brews from Lindesnes.

Solsletta 311221. Dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma is yeast, fruit, malt, bread. Flavor is yeast, fruit, malt, bread, alcohol, spices, oxidation, sourness. Ordinary beer.

Bottle. It's a still, headless dark brown beer, looking clear. Quite oxidized malty aroma with dark dried fruits, coffee, dark chocolate and licorice notes. Some alcohol and spiced hints too. It's full-bodied and flat on the palate, lightly warming, with malty flavors. Dark dried fruits, dark bread crust, some licorice and dark chocolate, a touch of coffee and some malty sourness. Long finish with some soy sauce hints. Sort of decent, but it sure needs some carbonation. 211231

Luke 18/2, en 0,33 flaske nesten direkte fra nissens utsalg på Madla: brunsvart med ok skum. Lakrissjokolader, hint av mørke bør og nytraktet lys kaffe. Fin bitterhet i avslutningen. Velgjørende virkning på denne nissen (som gjerne hadde ønsket seg en flaske til) siste lørdag i advent.
