Bottle. A very lightly foggy golden colored beer with a nice white head. The aroma has a good dash of diacetyl, with fruityness, pale malts, canned peaches and some bread. It’s medium bodied, semi-dry and pleasantly carbonated, with something in there that makes me wanna puke. Pale malts, canned peaches, diacetyl, bread and generic fruityness in the flavor. And a flavor element that makes me wanne puke, or at least spit it out. Not to be repeated. 210813

I visited this friendly farm brewhouse on the 17th of July 2021, the day before my flight to Berlin, and was welcomed by Kjetil, the brewmaster, and his wife Guri. The colour of the beer is an inviting dark straw colour with an orange hue and a white head. The aroma and taste is much more interesting than some of the more commercial Kölsch, and creates a new interest for me for this underestimated style. Die Toten Hosen is malt-driven, with a strong presence of pilsner malt and Münich malt, with just enough hops to balance it. A very likeable and drinkable beer in the warm summer evening. A very impressive start for a new brewer, with no off-tastes and a beer that is true to its style.
