Bottle at home, from Waitrose Tourist Town, 13/05/16. Hazed orange amber with a decent egg shell white head. Nose is caramel, orange peel, cantaloupe melon, faint mango, toasted bread. Taste comprises orange sherbets, straw, light caramel, toasted malt, hint of papaya. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with moderate hop bitterness. Decent enough but no ’wow’ factor IPA.

Bottle @ Hart & Spool, Borehamwood. Amber-orange with next to no head. Has a very stated pale ale character with plenty of fruitiness in its taste, but even more in its aroma. Fairly strong tasting but frighteningly easy to sip.

Bottle from Waitrose and drunk at home. Clear amber colour lasting cream coloured head. Big west coast ipa style hop aroma, big pink grapefruit and some pine resin. Some toffee. Good hoppy finish. Some bitterness. Rather good I thought.

Bottle from Waitrose, consumed at home. Golden brown, not quite clear. Modest ring of white head. Big burst of fruit flavours in the aroma: pineapple, mango and white grape. Sweet taste at first before the bitterness kicks in. It’s a bit unbalanced with some odd notes of gummi bears, but I like it well enough. Weakish body but the well-judged carbonation makes up for it. Not perfect but very, very good. I can live with that.

Bottled@AIH53 (from AbM). Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is floral, mild catpissy and resiny notes along with some sweet bready notes. Flavour is fruity, floral, wooden, mild herbal notes with some rather sweet malts and toffee. Quite peachy aftertaste.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, reddish golden to amber colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, white head. Citrusy fruity, hoppy aroma, notes of lemon, grapefruit, some lemon zest, a sugary touch. Taste is initially crisp bitter hoppy with citrusy fruity hints of grapefruit and lemon, later the fruitiness fades a- and gives way to more and more papery, grassy and chalky notes; refreshing, lively carbonation. Nice IPA with rather typical Session IPAic collapse of fruitiness in the finish.
