Bottle. Dark brown pour. Aroma of sweet cherry, chocolate, amarena, malt and caramel. Taste of cherry bonbons, chocolate, malt, caramel and a little licorice. Sweet, somewhat boozy finish, almost no carbonation. Bit simple, but solid.

Bottle at Kim Jong Un Buurtcentrum, Zaandam. Near black with a thin tan head. Aroma of cherries upfront with milk chocolate, vanilla notes, cola, licorice and roast. Flavour is above moderate sweet and light moderate bitter. Medium but watery bodied with very soft carbonation.

Bottle from Secret Santa 2017 trade. Thanks Benzai! Pours deep dark brown and leaves a creamy, tan head. Unusual for a porter the dominant aroma is cherry, but not surprising given that cherries are in the brew. Mild hints of chocolate and toast. Taste is defined by a cherry sweetness that turns sour at the end. Mild bitterness. Body is to the light side of medium, carbonation is mild. Overall, pretty good, but I don’t find that cherries and traditional porter flavors meld very well.

Bottle from het Biermoment. Almost clear dark brown color, short frothy head. Aroma has a soft roasty note and caramel and licorice, but on top of that are sweet cherries and cherry pits. All in a very delicate and balanced way. Slight fruity sweetness in the taste together with caramel tones, soft roasty bitterness and slight salty licorice. Stylewise it's perhaps a little bit in between an imperial porter and a belgian dark quad, but the balance and flavors make up for this minor flaw. Really enjoyed this one, far better than a lot of the BA crap the big boys Jopen and de Molen are creating nowadays.

Bottle @ home. Dark brown to black color with a nice red glare coming through when held into the light, medium sized tan head. Smell and taste malts, lightly berries, berries / cherry mixed with dark malts and soft roast, soft toasted malt bitter mixed with a slightly sweet chocolate hint. Body is decent to medium, carbonation is soft. Quite nice.
