Bottle from Beer Gonzo webshop, Earlsdon, Coventry consumed at Oude Maas campsite, Heerjansdam, Netherlands Monday 26th September 2016 Pours brown good clarity, surprised that this is not darker, a large frothy, billowing head atop. The chilli is really making its mark here, instantly warming the other flavours light chocolate and spice are there but chilli dominates, a touch thin in the mouth, quite like it though. The taste is rich roasted malt, chilli pepper spicy, green veg, earthy, coffee, warming spice, but not too much with warming, chilli spice finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. The chilli pepper spice is well judged. Decent stuff.

Opaque dark brown to black color, medium sized beige head. Smell and taste: well, I can be quite short about it. Way too fucking much burning chili!! Fucking peppers I fucking hate it. Undrinkable for me.

Bottle from Oak Tree Inn shop, Balmaha. Appearance - opaque black with an olive sheen. Attractive fawn head which mostly disappears quickly. Nose - big smoky chilli note with chocolate filling out the background. Taste - more of the same. There is considerable chilli heat and even spice. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy and spicy texture and the heat continues through the long dry finish. Overall - it’s well made but chilli in beer has to be subtle for my taste.
