Dry, bitter and aggressively aromatic, this West Coast IPA hearkens back to the early days of craft beer. Zesty citrus, pine, resin and floral notes define this dangerously moreish beer.

Can at Prince Arthur, Fleet. Aroma has sour fruit with a malty streak. Medium-heavy bitter. Resinous with a berry streak..Spice. Underlying malts. Opaque gold. Frothy foamy white head. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Good stuff especially as I had low expectations.

440ml can at the Pilgrim's Progress (JDW), Bedford. Light gold and clear with a smattering of an uneven white head. Big grapefruit aroma, some lemon, a little bit if pine in the background. Bittersweet taste with bitter piney hop oils coating my tongue. Gentle fruity finish. Light and slightly oily body, not much carbonation. Predictable but good.
