Pours a clear dark ruby body and a creamy beige head with little retention. Aroma's: sweetish, malts, caramel/fudge, red fruit. Retronasal: caramel malts, red fruit, light bitter, light spices. Flavour is above moderate sweet and light bitter. Alcohol is warming but not too hot. Above medium bodied. Bitterness increases. Very nice, Menno still has it!

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 01/09/24. Clear mahogany brown topped with a lasting beige head. Nose is fruit cake mix, nutty, toffee, light booze tunes, dates, dark malts, molasses. Taste comprises caramel, spice, booze, raisins, dates, fruit loaf, toasted brown sugars. Full bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close with a balanced rising boost. Solid sipper with an old skool vibe about it.

Bottle thanks to my bro. It pours clear deep red - brown with a decent beige head. The aroma is rich and malty, brown bread, sappy, resin, nutty, dried fruits, raisin, sultana, and fruit cake. The taste is dry, bitter - sweet, toasty, earthy, toffee, caramel, nutty, pecan pie, touch of cacao, coffee beans, brown bread, light spice and some pleasing alcohol warmth with drying, toasty finish. Fullsome body, fine carbonation and slick mouth feel. Nice classic styled barleywine. Hearty and moreish.

Whoo fucken hoooo! Menno is back! De fucken lighted! A very mild haze on this amber beer, short pale tan head that does not hang around. Smooth palate, decent fine minerally carbonation on the back end. Light but smooth malts, caramel and cream, touch of toffee. A lovely balance of ripe and fresh citrus, weighted, correctly in my opinion, to the ripe end. Whisper of red berry fruits. Smooth finish. Yeah, this is what a young barleywine should taste like. Fairly light overall but with a nice depth of flavour. Would age well in any barrel I can think of.

Prima basis Barley Wine, granig maar niet al te overdreven, ook geen fancy flavours, gewoon basic BW, zacht, zoet, wel wat (té) alcoholisch, lichte caramel en rozijn maar blijft vrij basic
