Cask at Square Bottle, Chester. Pours golden yellow with a small foamy almost white head and good lacing. There’s a fairly weak aroma of citrus and lime. In the mouth it is sweet and smooth with flavour of hedge fruits and elderflower. A certain tanginess becomes evident later with hints of ginger and tangerine. Finish is slightly dry. This is eminently reasonable.

[Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading.] A pale amber coloured pour with a ring of white head; floral aroma; sweet elderflower taste; and a sweet herbal finish with a lingering dry bitter aftertaste. Not my thing.

Clear and golden with a frothy white head and a soft floral aroma. Light bodied, floral and a little fruity, soft malt and a dry, floral finish.

5/3/2026. Cask at wetherspoon’s beer festival. At the Bell Hotel, Norwich. This was served straight from cask. Pours fine. Sweet, flowery, herbal, grassy. Sweet clammy taste. A little unpleasant bitterness. Elderflower is one flavouring I’ve never got on with and this hasn’t changed my opinion.

(Cask at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, 19 May 2018) Golden colour with foamy, off-white head. Fruity, malty nose with elderflower, citrus, peaches and hints of red berries. Fruity, malty taste with notes of elderflower, bread, peaches, citrus and a balanced citric bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and refreshing. Quite nice.
