Backlog September 2011. Deep amber body under a thin beige head. Nice funky aroma with malt, caramel and cellar notes. Interesting taste, sweet and sour with sweet malt, caramel, and sour berries/fruit, smooth with mild funk. Fine body and pleasant aftertaste. Might not be the most interesting beer from this exiting brewery but it’s growing on me and definitively a pleasant one.

Bottle from Schroppfy, thanks! Deep dark brown color, almost opague. Oak, vanilla, raisin and bourbon in the aroma. Grapes and a cherry tartness in the flavor, combined with some roasted malt. Has developed the finesse of an old Flemish brown ale. Oak, raisin and vanilla in the aftertaste. I just loved this one.

Bottle. It’s not looking very good in the glass, with its reddish brown body, and just some off-white bubbles for a head. Berries dominates the aroma, pleasant but a bit weak. Sour fruits and a touch of vinegar too. The flavor too has some vinegar, as well as lemon, dried fruits and berries. Full to medium bodied, quite tart, finishing with berry flavors that lasts. A quite nice one, but not the most impressive Jolly Pumpkin beer. 110930

bottle. dark browm colour with a beige head. aroma is brett, oak, sourness, berries. Flavour is brett, oak, sourness, berries, funk , yeast. Nice beer.

Bottle. Pours black. No head. Nose/taste of cocoa, caramel, very tart dark cherries, wild yeast and dark chocolate. High acidity in secondary finish. Medium body.

bouteille de 750ml partagée avec Askofficerfriednly. Brune foncée, de fines bulles de couleur blanc-cassé recouvrent le tout. Délicieuse pour le style. Le tout conserve un profile qui tend à être plus malt et grillé que de nombreuses bières du même style. Le palais garde un bon coté aigre remplit de fruits noirs avec des notes de bois et de fûts, vinaigre typique des bières de Jolly Pumpkin. Reste bien effervescente en bouche et toujours accompagnée de notes grillées. Ça se laisse déguster et force est de reconnaître la maîtrise du mélange de toutes ces bières pour obtenir ce résultat final.

Dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of dried fruit and chocolate, some funk, some cherry and a hint of acetone. Sour and funky flavour with lots of berry notes.

Bottle @ Papsø-Grand-Tasting, September 2010. Pours unclear amber with a creamy white head and lacings. Nose is complex. Brett and dark malts. Tart and dry bretty flavor with hints of acetone. Full bodied. Nice.

Dark brown with a medium beige head. Sour aroma with plenty of lacto, roasted malt, acetone and sour berries. Sour flavor with loads of lacto, acetone, roasted malt and sour berries. Finished sour and dry. Perfect balance. Nice!

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with no head. Aroma is wineous grapes and mild lacto acdic. Rather acidic and lacto flavoured. Crisp wineous fruity and sour. Lingering acidic and wineous finish.
