This beer is what happens when Sierra Nevada brews beer for the Budweiser crowd. The Saaz hops give it just enough of a European flair to be annoying, yet the lager yeast and light malts keep things easy and refreshing enough to make this bottle quite appropriate for use while mowing the lawn. As interesting as a trip to Delaware. (4/21/09)

Warning! Early amateur rating! Supersmooth and light lager. Very easy drinking, clean tasting good lager.

Draught in a bar in the Detriot airport. Pale gold, lager-like appearance with a thick, fine head. Aroma of clean pilsner malts, good hopping. Crisp, citrus flavor, with grass. Light and hoppy with a nice bitterness at the end. Crisp and nice summer beer.

Tap at Bar 29. 2010 Vintage. It’s a travesty that this beer is rated just over 3. This might be the best American Lager I’ve ever had. Pours light gold with a creamy, white head. Nose of sweet grains and light hops. Flavor is sweet to start and throughout, with notes of cereal and fruit. Light to medium in body with average carbonation. Crisp, with a nicely bitter finish. This is easy drinking at its best.

Blanchard’s Allston Six-pack ($11): Pours gold with small white head. Aroma of mild hops and some grains and stuff like that. Beer itself is crisp and the slight hoppy bite accentuates the crispness. Smooth sailing overall. A little bit of sweetness. Sessionable, but I would prefer something else. Mostly got it to drink more Sierra Nevadas.

(Draught at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 8 Aug 2009) Golden yellow colour with greenish hints. Frothy, white head. Malty, bready nose with notes of grass, hay and some hints of tropical fruit. Malty, bready taste with grass and a touch of citrus. Well balanced and dry. Clean and fresh but hardly exciting. Decent.

bottle - Pours yellow-gold with a one finger white head. It smells of pale malt and a little floral hops. The flavor is of light, slightly fruity malt with some good crisp hops that gives it more character than most lagers. It’s actually a pretty enjoyable summer brew. How ’bout that.
