We've used three imported, specialty malts and a big sack (literally) of rye which give the distinctive red colour and spicy flavour. To compliment this grist big American hops are needed, so we turned to Citra, Chinook and Centennial; a stage for us to showcase some of our favourite ingredients. A craft beer that delivers more than just an explosion of hops.

Keg @ The Foundry. Pours a clear golden amber, creamy off-white head. Caramel malt on the nose. Moderate rye sweetness to taste with a strong bitterness, a glimpse of orangey fruit, light bitter close. Decent.

1/3 pint, draught, sample tray at Foundry Brew Pub. Shared with Finn. Misty amber body, off-white head, rings of lace down the glass. Inviting smell of grainy malts and dark fruits. Balanced taste character of dark berries and dark fruits supported by bread-like malts and added by a spicy touch. Slightly roasted malty ending, mid-dry. Like it. (Canterbury 11.02.2023).

14th Aug 2018; third of a pint in a five beer flight at the brewery (Foundry Brew Pub). Keg, red hue to the amber body, off-white cap. Has that distinctive Rye aroma and taste and a light citrus leaning from the hops, liked it.
