Reviewed from notes.
Can to snifter.
Appearance: dark brown close to black in the glass with a two and a half fingers of khaki foamy head which died off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: roasted hazelnuts, cocoa powder, coffee roastiness, chili peppers and the vanilla slides in underneath
Flavor: seems to do a pretty good job of combining the prior noted aromas to a fair sweet to spicy to gentle roasty undertone; finishes with the chili peppers, some cocoa powder and coffee tones
Texture: medium bodied, leaning towards being a sipper; some smoothness but also a bit of stickiness with a light dusting of the chili peppers providing the heat I was somewhat expecting.
Overall: that was quite the interesting experience, I'd say. And to be honest, I think I could bang this one again.

A full well-laced tan head on a near black body. The nose features fresh ground hazelnuts, coffee and cocao. Roasted hazelnuts lead the taste profile with rising heat from the chili peppers. Coffee and unsweetened chocolate underpin the profiled ingredients. Touches of molasses and cherries round out a powerhouse menu of flavours. At near room temperature the taste experience is sumptuous, with a nice density and slightly sticky mouth feel. The hazelnuts and chili peppers extend well, in balance with the core IS ingredients. Worth the price and more!

Can @ Både &. Black body under a moderate sized beige head. Aroma of dark malt, chocolate, caramel, vanilla, hazelnut cream, coffee and pepper. Flavor is very sweet chocolate, malt, vanilla and hazelnut with hint of coffee and a discrete chili burn. Full bodied and long lasting aftertaste. Nice like a chocolate confectionery, that means in smaller quantities for those with a sweet teeth. Quite decent pastry stout actually.

From tap at BeerTemple, Amsterdam. Aroma is loads of hazelnut with roasted malt, caramel, syrup, chocolate, vanilla, and notes of cookies. Flavour is very sweet with a roasty bitterness. Body is full with a sticky mouthfeel. Nice hazelnut desert.

Can from Ale Arsenal to tulip glass. Aroma is pastry crust and hazelnut. Faint baker's chocolate and slight roast. Color is rich brown with garnet highlights. Big brown head that quickly fades to a collar. Flavor is overt hazelnut, moderate vanilla and crusty malt. The only place the chili shows is in the back half of the palate and very slight - this was only after it warmed. I only like chili in beers when it is restrained, but this fades so deeply to not add much depth.
