Deep gold with a creamy, white head. Aroma more herbal and flowery than fruity, a good dollop of garden weed. Taste is bitter, dry, with some acridity at the finish. Medium-bodied, moderate carbonation, a trace of booze in the aftertaste. Drinkable, but not exactly inviting.

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a medium-sized minimally off-white foamy head. Mildly biscuity and caramelly malty aroma with fruity and delicately resiny hoppy notes of grapefruit and lemon. Moderately bitter and delicately sweet flavour, medium to light bodied with a modest carbonation. Quite dry malty base with notes of biscuits, white bread, shades of caramel, as well as a rounded hoppy counterpart including fruity and slightly resiny accents; bitter-sweet hoppy and rounded malty finish. Due the malt dosage a more “old world” IPA. 30.VII.16

Medium sweet flavor with slight minerality, some orange, pale bread, light oily pine. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation; good carbonation. Nicely balanced finish with moderate pale malt sweetness, slight bitter hay, minerals, citrus. Good stuff.

Cask at the Black Country Arms, Walsall. Poured a clear medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is citrus, light grassy hop. The flavour is light bitter with a watery light hop, light malt, light citrus palate. Pretty light all round. Would not order another.
