Bottle 65cl. @ Papsoes blindtasting. [ Bottle #15. ]Clear medium to dark brown color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, caramel, berry, dusty, light hoppy and yrasty. Flavor is light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090612]

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of bu11zeye. Hazy orangey brown with a beige head. Aroma of overripe fruit, yeast and dried fruit - alcohol also. Quite full-bodied, dried and overripe fruit and a fairly hoppy finish. 120609

Draft at the brewery. A dark red-brown beer with a lazing tan head. The aroma has notes of sweet malt and caramel, as well as lighter notes of roasted malt. The flavor is very sweet with primary notes of caramel, but also lighter notes of roasted malt.

bottle at Ft Wayne tasting - Pours dark amber with a light tan head. It has an aroma that’s full of dark fruit. The flavor is a sweet, dark fruit accented malt. Some good balancing hops comes through in the somewhat dry finish of this full bodied brew.

Bottle courtesy of fopdog. Thanks Kevin. Pours deep amber with thin tan head. The aroma seems mild with smooth malts hitting first before full notes of figs, prunes, raisins and a bit of pepper take over. The taste begins fruity with prunes, figs, plums and solid raisin notes. It gets a bit peppery to midway and grows some into the finish. Nice stuff.

Pours deep mahogany into a trappist glass. Off-white head with good retention recedes to skim surface an hug rim. Fig, raisin, caramel and alcohol aromas. Thick with upfront dark caramel, pit fruits and a lasting yeasty hop and alcohol finish.

courtesy of jdubfl. Pours amber with tan head. Aroma of Belgian yeast with presence of dark fruits. Taste, is strong malty palate, dark fruits and grainy with the ever present strong ale sugar like mouthfeel. Finish of light hops.

22oz bottle-pours a foamy dissipating tan head that laces and black color. Aroma is anise, pumpernickel, earthy/acidic hops. Taste is sweet dark malt-anise/molasses/chocolate, dark fruit, pumpernickel, earthy/acidic hops bitterness that’s a bit raw, yeasty. I’ll rate this based on cooler serving temp, which was better than when it was at cellar temp. Thanks jwc215 for sharing.

Bomber from GM Liquors. Nose of sweet caramel malts, raisins, cloves, vanilla, and nutmeg. Very dark, cloudy brown with a lightly lacing, medium beige head. Flavor is peppery spiciness, light bitterness, yeast, and lightly sweet caramel. Finish is light bitterness and cloves.

Tap at Barcade - 07 vintage - cloudy dark reddish brown - yea, the alcohol is fairly evident in this one - moderately estery - notes of dark fruit, chocolate, plum - a little doughy through the middle - a bit of clove and other vaguely weizenbock-like flavors - quite yeasty - this beer is kind of all over the place.
