Can at home in Hackney - picked up from the local Sainsbury’s. Pours clear, black-brown with a bubbly, beige head. Light-medium sweet flavour with rich chocolatey malts, some subtle tangy dark fruits, tobacco, earth, raisins, black coffee. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Rounded finish, some scorched earth, bitter coffee, silky chocolate. Tasty.

Keg @ The Bell Inn, Oswestry. Pours dark, hazed, tan head. Vibrant nose of coffee, roasted malt and chocolate. Big hitting first sip, chocolate and roasted coffee in excellent balance, with a sultry bitter close. Beer of the night saved til last.

Can from Sainsbury’s. Black body with a short-lived beige head. No visible carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of wood and coffee. Flavour of vanilla, cocoa powder and coffee. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Soft fizz. Sweet and roasted with a nice vanilla vibe.

440ml can from Sainsburys. Pours near black with a slight, creamy, off-white head, that left large amounts of lacing down the glass. Aroma of coffee, with a touch of milk chocolate fondant and leafy hop. Flavour had some sweetness upfront, before drying coffee notes kicked in leading to a toasty finish. Good.

Half-pint (Keg) at one of the bars inside Mercato Metropolitan on 20th November 2023. Black bodied, weak and thin tanned head. Singed coffee beans and over roasted maltiness, but it was OK!

440ml can - Pours black with a large foamy tan head. The aroma is deep roasted malts, coffee grounds, charred grain and some chocolatey notes. A rich roasted taste, roasted malts, coffee and chocolate flavours with a ashy and bittersweet roasted finish.

Opaque beer, slightly lively head which fizzles away quite quickly. Big hit off coffee in the smell of it, as you might expect. Flavour has the bitter coffee, a little dark chocolate, some sweet and toasty malt. Decent body, mild carbonation. Nice toasty finish.

Can at home picked up from Sainsbury's .A jet black coloured pour with a lively mid tan head. Aroma is bitter char roast, some ashy roast, roasted barlet, earth. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, dry earthy roast, bitter char, spicy pepper notes, robust rustic roast, green pepper. Palate is dry, little abrasive, prickly carbonation. Robust but lacks a little refinement.
