Cask at the William IV, Stourbridge, 28/02/2025.
Pith black with a lasting khaki head ... a handsome looking beer.
Nose is roast malts, dark chocolate shavings, charr, liquorice, dried fruit rinds.
Taste comprises toffee, chocolate biscuit, dusty hops, mellow roast.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close.
Solid cask stout ... has a CDA crossover vibe about it.

Cask-conditioned at the Siren's Calling, Portishead May 2024. Near black in colour, with a slight , beige, head. Plenty of plain chocolate, coffee beans, suggestion of tangerines and red currants, leading to a charred, toasty, finish. Enjoyable.

Hand-pulled third of a pint in The Ship and Castle, Aberystwyth on 27th April 2024, Jolly Boys outing! Black body, lightly tanned topping. Malty with coffee overtones, roasted chocolate, singed feel.

Cask pint @ Three Fishes with Ewan before watching Tiny Leaves at St Alkmund's Church. Pours pitch black with a good beige head that leaves some satisfying lacing down the glass. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, perhaps fleeting vanillery hints. Lovely creamy smooth textures, wonderfully balanced.. soft roast, excellent malt depth with nice mocha moments, all in situ. Startlingly good, this is the kind of stout all others much surely aspire to.

Cask at Borough Arms, Crewe. Pours almost black withathick foamy tan head and good lacing. Roasted malts and chocolate dominate the aroma. Same agin in the mouth where it is smooth and creamy, but here they are joined by some dark fruity notes and hints of coffee and coconut. Some bitterness in the finish. This is excellent !

Lovely velvety stout. Pours near black with a bubbly tan head and milk chocolate with a hint of coconut on the nose. Smooth, medium bodied, chocolate, coffee and roasted malt, some soft dark fruits and that hint of coconut in there too, before a warming, dry bitterness finishes things off
