Werewolves of Cambridge is an approachable Porter brewed with English pale malt and a wide range of crystal malts. Leading with aromas of caramel, coffee, and cocoa, this deep brown ale is medium-bodied and smooth, balancing sweet and roasty malt character with a trace of piney bitterness. Deliciously drinkable with plenty of toasty, chocolatey richness, this beer is bound to get you howling. Named after Warren Zevon’s classic hit, Werewolves of London. Awooooo!

Tap @ Lamplighter CX. Pours a deep dark brown, off-white head. Espresso roast, leather and dark toffee nose. Taste presents excellent layers of dark caramel, chocolate malt and distant espresso.. such a good porter, lots here to discover, whilst remaining very well balanced.

Draught at the brewery, 12/13/17.
Good clarity in this mahogany-to-ebony beer. Light tan head atop shows modest retention.
Strong coffee suggestions are fruity and "bitter" with dark chocolate, caramel and vanilla rounding out a very classic, English-derived nose. Light dark fruit on the finish, bit of buttercream (not diacetyl) and no alcohol or flaw. Seems to have enough base malt and it's not chalk full of burnt character.
In the mouth it's malty and yet nicely dry and drinkable with ample, engaging carbonation. Licorice, maple, treacle and vinous notes shift the balance to dry, yet sticky caramel and light milk chocolate keep it balanced on the finish. Very well-executed, by-the-books porter.
