We’ve been waiting for the right beer to age in our French oak Calvados barrels and our crossover style Dubbel Mild, brewed in collaboration with Colin Strong from SALT with heritage malts and Belgian yeast fits perfectly. Toffee and fig meld seamlessly with hints of almond and vanilla to make this rather special beer.

440ml can from Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Poured a crystal clear medium amber colour with a thin broken, off-white head. The aroma is toffee caramel malt. The flavour is over moderate sweet, with a smooth, rich, toffee caramel malt, earthy, herbal, warm boozy alcohol bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Can pour at IMBC 2022. Pours unclear deep brown with a tidy beige cap. Aroma: sweet malts, apple brandy barrel, caramel, toffee, dried fruits. Taste: moderate sweet with slightly lighter bitterness, rich, toasty malts, caramel, toffee apple, dried fruits. Medium+ body with fine carbonation, dry finish. Cracking!

440ml can Chez Sophie. Dark misty brown pour, creamy off-white head. Really nice.. rich dark old ale character, deep malts, with toffee notes, mild vanilla hints and subtle calvados influence creeping in on the close. Lovely sipper.
