Draft. A black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, citrus fruits, hops, and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, citrus fruits, roasted malt, and chocolate, leading to a bitter finish.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from Cork & Cask. Pours deep brown with a creamy, tan head. Lightly sweet with subtle roast, mellow cocoa, burnt pine, orange peel, earth. Light bodied with average carbonation. Subtly resinous finish, some more burnt pine, baking cocoa, moderate ashy roast, suggestions of citrus rind, decent bitterness. Nice SCDA.

440ml can Sophie's Beer Store. Pours pitch black, foamy deep tan head. Aroma of roasty pine. Taste sees roasted malts dominate alongside a solid pine hop hit. Very good. My kind of Black IPA.

Black beer with a thick, bubbly brown head. Has the usual black IPA smell of toasty malt with a distinct hoppiness. Flavour follows suit. Toasted malt, bittersweet tropical fruit with the hops. Decent body to it, the richness lasts through the finish. Very good example of the style.
