Aroma has notes of toasted marshmallow, nuts, dark bread. Taste is sweet and roasty with a lightly bitter edge, finishing very dry. Roasty malt flavors. A little thin. Very English.

Aromas are lots of roast, dark malt and a little molasses. Flavors are somewhat similar to nose, roast and tanginess from carbonation stand out. Fairly dry with a touch of sweet in the finish. Nice beer.

Undated can drunk 11/6/24. Clear, dark chocolate-mahogany. Giant, naturally-formed, lighter-tan head, very well-retained. A great mix of roast and sweeter chocolate with creamy/nutty oat and plentiful brown sugar. Mild fruitiness with char, salt and earth lingering. Clean, very aromatic. Chocolate (darker), dry caramel and spicy, nutty rye and nutty oat. Creamy body with some earth and ash. Good depth and attenuation. Mild fruitiness and a fun yeast. A lot to love here, not much to find fault with.

Can from Tavour. Pours somewhat like a Guinness - dark brn/blk with a large head that quickly rose from the bottom. Aroma is dark malt and chocolate. Med body. Flavor is dark malt and chocolate with some detectable rye spiciness. Tasty and sessionable.

16oz can from Tavour. Black pour, one finger creamy beige head. Light roasty aroma with notes of chocolate. Taste amps up the roastiness, coffee, chocolate leading up to a bone dry finish. Bitterness lingers on the palate.

16 ounce can from Tavour. Opaque dark brown pour. Frothy tan head leaves behind cascading lace. Earthy roasted malt aroma hints at cocoa. Flavor is mild roasted malt, chocolate and earthy rye grain. Reminiscent of marbled rye bread. Light bodied, but flavorful. Lightly carbonated. Dry finish.

4oz cask pour at Chuck's Greenwood. Pours black with off-white head. Aroma has nice roasted malts and coffee. Flavour is thinner than the aroma; rye bread. Very watery. Promising on the nose, but the palate is feeble.
