15/II/25 - on tap @ Bar Beenhouwer (Gent), BB: n/a (2025-138)

Clear dark brown to black beer, small creamy beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: very oxidized, lots of red wine, soy sauce, lots of alcohol, some bourbon notes, roasted pecans, maple syrup. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: very oxidized, some soy sauce, bitter touch, pretty dry, gentle roast, some alcohol. Aftertaste: roasted, a bit sweet, some caramel, chocolate notes, oxidized, some cardboard even.

Black with a small, deep tan head. Full bodied. Big almond notes with lots of vanilla, light oak, whiskey, molasses, melted chocolate, light earth. Finish has a medium sweet note with more almond and some booze. It’s a solid beer for what it is- but the almond can be turned down from 11.

Can picked up from Hoptimaal webshop Amersfoort Netherlands and consumed at Alpen-Caravanpark Tennsee, Krün nr Mittenwald Thursday 29th August 2024 after dropping Dad and Pauline off at the airport. Pours black with a tan head. Didn't like this at all, tasted artificial and just weird, managed one mouthful, Loz tried and didn't like it at all. Really sorry La Pirata but this is not a good beer.
